CRICKET
Cricket has been played under the Emerald Hill Cricket Club name since New Year’s Eve 1853 with the founding of a formal cricket club occurring on September 29, 1855 as Melbourne’s first suburban cricket club.
During 1991 Emerald Hill Cricket Club began its association with the struggling St Kilda Bowling Club playing matches in the adjacent Oval 1 at Fitzroy Street, Albert Park. Emerald Hill Cricket Club is now combined with the St Kilda Bowling Club, the St Kilda Pétanque Club and the St Kilda Darts Club to form the iconic St Kilda Sports Club right in the heart of bustling St Kilda.
The Emerald Hill Cricket Club has grown into a successful mainstay within St Kilda; winning numerous premierships along the way. Our members play the game they love with an exceptional group of lads and come back year after year because of the unique offering that is the Emerald Hill Cricket Club based out of the historic clubrooms and beer garden at 66 Fitzroy Street, St Kilda.
Multiple senior sides play various grades of turf cricket with our home ovals in Albert Park. Training is held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons with match days on Saturdays during summer.
Throughout the community Emerald Hill Cricket Club and the prestigious St Kilda Sports Club are regarded as St Kilda’s best kept secret.
We welcome new players of all skill levels and more information can be found here:
